Job summary

The Dow Chemical Company in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Counsel to provide transactional legal support across Hydrocarbons, Feedstocks and Energy & Climate units. You will draft documents, advise clients, and lead training while coordinating with global teams.

Ideal candidates hold a JD/LLM, 4+ years as in-house or transactional attorney, and U.S. work authorization. Relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• A minimum of 4 years practicing as in-house counsel or as a corporate/commercial/transactional attorney.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• U.S. based position requires the ability to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Be a simplifier and solver of strategic-level legal challenges for clients in a global science and technology growth-driven company.
• Review and draft legal documents, participate in business meetings to identify legal risk and provide solutions.
• Host client legal training and education on topics aligned with risk mitigation practices.
• Exhibit teamwork, legal technology savviness, and bias toward action; negotiate and communicate effectively under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with a team of legal professionals, business clients, and Company colleagues; share and learn in a team environment.
• Proactively communicate with Legal team management and clients.
• Delegate work to paralegals and support staff to match education and experience with project needs.
• Manage outside counsel and external resources consistent with department policies.
