Job summary

James G. Davis Construction Corp. is seeking an Assistant EHS Manager to eliminate or control hazardous conditions and apply advanced safety principles across construction sites. The role emphasizes inspections, safety planning, incident investigations, and leadership in EHS training and compliance.

The candidate will lead trade partner meetings, ensure regulatory adherence, and drive continuous improvement in project safety performance within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health + Safety Sciences or related field, or equivalent safety experience.
• Two (2) years of experience in occupational Environmental Health + Safety or a related field.
• Construction industry experience.
• Possesses BCSP credential or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.

Responsibilities

• Lead routine EHS inspections and project audits.
• Verify closure of corrective actions and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Analyze inspection and audit data to identify trends and high-risk activities.
• Lead project EHS kickoff meetings and trade partner preconstruction meetings.
• Develop and deliver Competent Person and other EHS education programs.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions.
