Job summary

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to serve as the Assistant Division Chief for the Division of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) & Highway Safety (Senior Public Service Administrator, Opt. 8N).

This role coordinates policy development, licensing, and quality improvement across EMS programs, ambulance licensure, trauma systems, and related initiatives. A strong supervisory background is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires four years college.
• Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems.
• Requires a valid Illinois license as a Professional Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assists Division Chief in policy development for EMS and Highway Safety.
• Oversees licensing, compliance, and quality improvement programs.
• Coordinates with service providers, licensees, and advocacy groups.
• Trains and supervises staff as a full-line supervisor.
