Job summary

The City of Chicago seeks a Chief Medical Director to lead clinical health and fitness programs for its public safety workforce. You will oversee medical staff, drive occupational health services, and shape treatment protocols and quality assurance initiatives.

Residency and licensure requirements apply, with emphasis on public safety medicine and compliance with all applicable laws and labor agreements. Location is Chicago, with standard M-F hours and a Shake-up exempt status.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with LCME/ECFMG/COCA credentials and approved residency.
• Four years in occupational medicine, with two in clinical admin.
• Board certification preferred in occupational medicine or related field.

Responsibilities

• Directs strategic clinical health and fitness programs for uniformed staff.
• Leads clinical and administrative teams including Medical Directors and NPs.
• Oversees pre-employment and fitness for duty evaluations and return-to-work processes.
• Directs medical protocol development and QA programs.
• Coordinates communication of exam results to employees and applicants.
