Job summary

Tireco-Distributors is seeking an Assistant Distribution Center Manager in Hartford, CT to assist the Distribution Center Manager with daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, and inventory control. You will help oversee staff and ensure efficient, compliant processes across the facility.

The role emphasizes leadership, adherence to DOT rules, and strong customer service. Training for lift operation and Smith System may be provided; cross-state deliveries may be required as

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years’ distribution center operations experience; supervision/management preferred.
• Experience managing a fleet of delivery vehicles.
• Operate vehicles under DOT compliance.
• Possess a valid standard driver’s license; some states may require a Class D license – No CDL required.
• Meet requirements for DOT compliance; pass drug test and DOT physical; 21+ years; willing to cross state lines for deliveries as required.
• Ability to be insured under company driving policy.
• Inventory management and cycle counting.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Ability to operate a lift; lift certification training provided by the company.
• Smith System certification training provided by the company.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Distribution Center Manager in overseeing all warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, and overall organization of product.
• Help manage staff and ensure efficient, safe operations.
• Support implementation of safety and DOT compliance standards.
• Collaborate with drivers on delivery planning and route optimization.
• Contribute to inventory control and cycle counts.
• Promote excellent customer service and problem resolution.
