Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Director of Safety Technology to oversee all IT safety initiatives across the district, including implementation, testing, configuration, and support of safety-related systems.

The role directs processes for risk assessment, project planning, budgets, and vendor management, collaborating with IT leadership and district stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable technology for safety operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in criminal justice, organizational security management, cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, MIS or a related field.
• At least five years within the last eight years of experience in the field related to the title, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
• Able to work at a technical level with minimal supervision and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the performance of job duties.
• Direct and coordinate organization-wide processes for risk assessment and incident management.
• Manage project status, risks, issues, and communications to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to develop long- and short-range IT Safety plans.
• Manage budgets, personnel, and external vendors to achieve project success.
• Provide documentation, guidance, and training to department staff.
