Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH, invites applications for the part-time Resident Director (RD), a live-in role reporting to the Executive Director of Student Life and Dean of Academic and Student Engagement. The RD supports student welfare, campus culture, and housing operations.

Responsibilities include managing 120–250 resident community, supervising 2–3 RAs, on-call coverage, facilitating RA meetings, and coordinating housing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree enrollment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clear background check.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates initiative and solution-oriented mindset.
• Knowledge of conflict mediation.
• Willingness to develop and participate in campus life initiatives.
• Able to work with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Manage residential living community for 120–250 residents.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate 2–3 RA staff.
• Participate in 24-hour on-call responsibilities.
• Facilitate weekly RA staff meetings and 1:1 meetings.
• Attend weekly RD staff meetings with housing supervisor.
• Assist in training and evaluation of RA staff.
• Coordinate check-in/check-out processes and housing operations.
• Provide crisis intervention and referrals as needed.
• Maintain office hours (10–15 hours/week).
• Coordinate housing break housing and summer housing transitions.
