Job summary

Ohio State University in Columbus seeks a Residence Hall Director to coordinate building and community aspects of a residence hall, developing an inclusive student community that is academically and socially engaging.

The role includes supervising staff, advising residents, and ensuring safety, with evening, weekend and on-call duties as part of a regular schedule. This is a on-campus live-in position with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Desired: Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or other related field.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate building and community aspects of a residence hall or complex.
• Develop an inclusive student community that is academically and socially engaging.
• Initiate, plan and organize community development program in residence hall or complex.
• Assist in hiring and training student staff; supervise and evaluate staff.
• Supervise residence hall office and building security operations.
• Advise residents on social, academic, and behavioral concerns.
• Advance departmental values centered on student learning, wellness, inclusion and vibrant communities.
• Role includes evening, weekend, and on-call duty.
