Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Program Assistant Director of Orientation within the Office of New Student, Transition, and Family Programs. This role leads the planning and execution of Maverick Orientation for first-year, transfer, and virtual attendees, ensuring inclusive and engaging onboarding experiences for a diverse student population.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education administration, counseling, college student personnel, or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Two (2) years of part-time graduate assistant experience closely related to the role’s responsibilities may be considered equivalent to one (1) year of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and implementation of New Maverick Orientation for all students, including first-year, transfer, and virtual attendees.
• Assist in planning and implementing orientation for veterans, international students, and graduate students; coordinate with stakeholders and teams.
• Manage logistics for events (location reservations, setup, catering, signage) and vendor relationships.
• Supervise Orientation Leaders and Student Coordinators; schedule, assign work, and evaluate performance.
• Participate in hiring and training processes for departmental staff.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient office operations and professional development.
