North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a Coordinator of Orientation and Transition Programs to oversee planning, coordination, and assessment of new-student orientation and transition initiatives. The role supports student and family engagement, collaborates with campus partners, and ensures smooth logistics for programs and events.

The position emphasizes experience in higher education administration, capacity to train student leaders, manage registrations, and use information systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of professional experience in orientation, student activities, or related area; or equivalent combination.
• Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, education, public administration, or related discipline.
• Experience coordinating new student orientation, transition, retention, or first-year programs.
• Experience recruiting, training, advising, or supervising student leaders.
• Experience coordinating large-scale programs or events.
• Experience using student information, registration, or CRM systems.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and speak before large audiences.
• Strong organizational, communication, customer-service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating with university departments and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, implement, and assess programs that help new students and families transition to the university.
• Coordinate orientation, transition programming, student-leader recruitment and development, family engagement, and first-year initiatives.
• Assist with orientation registration, communications, logistics, and data collection; collaborate with the Director and campus partners.
• Deliver organized, engaging, and student-centered transition experiences with various stakeholders.
• Support new student programs through training and development of student leaders and staff.
• Work with diverse campus partners to ensure timely execution and evaluation of programs.
