Job summary

University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks an Associate Director for New Student Orientation, Transitions, and Family Programs. This role reports to the Associate Dean of Students and directs a team to deliver undergraduate orientation and transition services to students and families.

The position requires collaboration across campus units, development of comprehensive transition programs, and management of program operations, budgets, and communications.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Four (4) years of related work experience in recruitment, orientation, and family programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience using web-based platforms to initiate, track, and record work.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, Excel, and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee New Student Orientation, Transitions, and Family Programs Office operations.
  • Triaging calls and emails; manage day-to-day office workflows.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and transition initiatives.
  • supervise staff and graduate interns; recruit and train student staff.
  • Lead creation of a communications and publication plan for programs.
