Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington seeks a Program Assistant Director of Orientation within the Office of New Student, Transition, and Family Programs to plan and execute New Maverick Orientation for first-year, transfer, and virtual attendees.

The role supervises undergraduate orientation leaders and coordinators, coordinates logistics—location reservations, catering, signage—and collaborates with campus partners to support veterans, international students, and graduate students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education administration, counseling, college student personnel, or related field.
• Two years of professional work experience in student affairs or a related field.
• Two years of part-time graduate assistant experience may be considered equivalent to one year of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and implementation of New Maverick Orientation for all students (first-year, transfer, and virtual).
• Assist in planning for veterans, international, and graduate students, coordinating with stakeholders.
• Manage and execute event logistics: location reservations, setup, catering, signage.
• Maintain relationships with vendors for promotional items, uniforms, and event materials; coordinate with leadership.
• Supervise Orientation Leaders and Student Coordinators; schedule, assign, and evaluate performance.
• Participate in hiring and training processes for departmental staff.
• Support initiatives within the Office of New Student, Transition, and Family Programs.
• Collaborate with team to ensure efficient office operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage in professional development and best practices at local, state, national, and international levels.
• Serve on university and divisional committees as directed.
