North Carolina State University is seeking an Assistant Director for the Academic Success Center in Raleigh, NC. This full-time, 12-month position reports to the ASC leadership and oversees Undergraduate and Graduate Writing Centers, shaping high-impact tutoring and speaking support across the university.

You will lead tutoring training, develop programs, and build campus partnerships to strengthen students’ writing and speaking skills, while guiding policy and program evaluation.

Qualifikationen

• Writing and/or speaking tutoring and/or teaching experience.
• Familiar with data collection, assessment, and presentations.
• Familiar with recent research and scholarship on tutoring and/or speaking tutoring

Aufgaben

• Provide independent oversight of the Undergraduate and Graduate Writing Centers, including hiring, scheduling, training, and supporting tutors.
• Establish and maintain data collection and reporting processes; analyze tutoring outcomes and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Director and ASC team to develop, implement, and evaluate policies and initiatives for the Center’s goals.
• Develop and deliver workshops, classroom presentations, and resources that support writing and speaking across the curriculum.
• Build partnerships with libraries, Graduate School, First Year Writing Program, ESL Program, and Campus Writing and Speaking Program.
• Represent the ASC with campus and external constituents as requested by the Director.
• Teach a one-credit tutor-training course each semester; lead training and professional development for tutors.
• Supervise a graduate assistant and provide coaching to align their work with ASC priorities.
• Contribute to a collaborative academic support environment and strengthen students’ writing and speaking skills
