Job summary

SEPTA is seeking an Assistant Director, Maintenance-Track to lead inspection, maintenance and renewal of railway track systems across the EM&C division. You will supervise track disciplines and coordinate safety programs while ensuring reliable operations for the Philadelphia region.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of technical leadership in maintenance or track engineering, plus strong communication, planning and CDL/driver qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of relevant technical experience including supervisory responsibility.
• Track experience highly preferred.
• Certification/licensing requirements as applicable (CFR 213.7 if listed).
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and surveying may be required.
• Valid driver's license; CDL may be required.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills; computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage maintenance workforce and schedules.
• Maintain and improve building and equipment; control expenditures.
• Develop training programs and ensure safety compliance.
• Provide reports to Director of Maintenance as required.
• Schedule and supervise inspection, maintenance and reconstruction of railway track systems.
• Oversee right-of-way maintenance including drainage and vegetation control.
• Coordinate track safety and protect workers; deploy flagmen as needed.
