Job summary

SEPTA is seeking an Assistant Director of Maintenance-Track (2003) to lead EM&C track disciplines in the Philadelphia region. The role supervises maintenance staff, manages track inspections, and drives preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe, reliable rail infrastructure.

Responsibilities include coordinating labor, material use, and safety compliance while reporting to the Director of Maintenance. A bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience is required; CFR 213.7

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 3–5 years of technical (maintenance, production, engineering or design) experience including supervisory experience.
• Track experience highly preferred.
• Must possess CFR 213.7 qualification or obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and manages maintenance workforce and schedules hours.
• Maintains and improves building and related equipment.
• Develops and implements preventive maintenance procedures and training.
• Reviews safety, budget, and compliance across EM&C operations.
• Oversees track inspection, maintenance, and renewal programs.
