Job summary

SEPTA is hiring a Senior Project Management Specialist for Rail Facilities in the Philadelphia area. The role entails developing scopes, schedules and cost estimates for engineering and construction, managing consultants and contracts, and ensuring projects meet milestones and regulatory requirements.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, 5+ years in engineering/construction management, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel).
• Familiarity with unionized environments and project/contract management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage review and evaluation of engineering and construction documents, mitigation measures and consultant reports.
• Develop priorities and schedules to meet capital project milestones.
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare reports and studies.
• Coordinate documents with FTA or other agencies for approval and discuss comments with agency staff.
• Develop scope, schedule and estimates for third-party documents and manage consultant contracts.
• Oversee project contracts and maintain organized contract files.
• Assist in obtaining required permits (DEP, ACOE, CCD or FEMA).
• Maintain safety compliance and report hazards; promote safety.
