Job summary

The Madison Hotel in Washington, D.C. is seeking an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to lead room attendants, housepersons, and inspectors to meet HEI Standards of Product and Service. This full-time on-site role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, payroll coordination, budget forecasting, and maintaining excellent guest room cleanliness and public areas, with a focus on teamwork and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 2 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a comparable hotel.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, including budgeting, safety programs, and staff development.
• Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and meet goals.
• Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees staff of room attendants, house persons, and inspectors by conducting daily and monthly meetings, inspecting staff work, and guiding improvements to meet standards.
• Interview, hire, train, evaluate performance, resolve problems, and communicate openly.
• Arrange staff work schedules and determine staffing levels based on occupancy and projects.
• Maintain and review payroll records and budgeting data, including any special room charges.
• Communicate clearly in writing and speech to provide direction and feedback.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
