Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking an Assistant Director of Environmental Services to assist the Director in directing hospital housekeeping operations. You will coordinate Operations Managers, act as a liaison between administration and hospital departments, and deliver high-level service.

The role emphasizes establishing standards, scheduling, hiring and training staff, and partnering across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work history.
• Working knowledge of housekeeping procedures preferred.
• Progressive growth in healthcare housekeeping facility maintenance.
• Strong work ethic, initiative for quality and customer service.
• Excellent written and oral communication, listening and empathy, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff, to function under stress, to organize and prioritize tasks, and to develop budgets with an understanding of facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and reviews standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff in accordance with facility policies.
• Plans work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties to ensure adequate housekeeping services.
• Interviews, selects, hires, evaluates, and recommends termination of housekeeping staff.
• Orients, trains, develops and supervises Housekeeping staff.
• Performs regular inspections and evaluations of the facility and recommends action items.
• Coordinates with other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities.
• Schedules major project work and ensures staff and supplies are available.
• Conducts regular inventory of housekeeping supplies.
• Assists Department Director with budgets.
