Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid at the Lake County campus to oversee federal, state, and institutional aid in collaboration with the Director of Financial Aid. The role serves as a primary contact for students and families and requires travel in the Lake County service area.

Responsibilities include FAFSA assistance, verification, SAP processes, veteran benefits, scholarships, and outreach.

Qualifications

Associate degree or higher with 3+ years’ related work experience; Bach. degree with 1+ year preferred.
Knowledge of financial aid regulations and processes.
Demonstrated leadership and customer-service focus.
NASFAA credential or FAAC designation preferred.

Responsibilities

Support key financial aid and veterans processes at the Lake County campus.
Assist students with FAFSA filing, verification, and getting into paid status before classes.
Provide individual and group financial aid advising on federal/state/institutional aid.
Assist veteran students with accessing educational benefits.
Promote Federal Work-Study and coordinate student employee onboarding.
Assist with scholarships and institutional aid and serve on scholarship committees.
Assist students with emergency aid requests and SAP appeals.
Conduct SAP appeal workshops and assist with unusual/special circumstances reviews.
Conduct outreach via email/text/phone/presentations to current and prospective students.
