Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College Lake County campus is seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to support federal, state, and institutional aid operations. You will supervise financial aid student staff and collaborate with campus enrollment services to serve students and families.

Travel within Lake County is required, and you will participate in training to maintain current knowledge, while promoting aid programs and coordinating with the Veterans Affairs processing hubs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 3+ years' related work experience or Bachelor's degree with 1+ year related work experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and processes is required.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong customer-service orientation.
• NASFAA Professional Credentials or FAAC designation preferred.
• Ability to build and maintain strong, authentic relationships.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist FAFSA filing, resolve financial aid issues, complete verification, and maintain paid status before classes.
• Provide individualized and group advising on federal, state, and institutional aid and application processes.
• Assist veteran students with accessing educational benefits.
• Promote Work-Study and coordinate student employee onboarding with HR.
• Administer scholarships and institutional aid and serve on scholarship committees.
• Assist with emergency aid requests in collaboration with campus offices.
• Serve on SAP appeals committees and conduct SAP workshops.
• Prepare and submit documentation for unusual or special circumstances reviews.
• Conduct financial aid outreach to students and prospective students via email, text, phone, and presentations.
