Job summary

Virginia Tech seeks an Assistant Director of Student Success Programs to provide high-impact academic, professional, and personal support for undergraduate students in the College of Engineering. The role manages Clark Scholars and STEP programs, coordinates spaces, and connects students with services to improve retention, graduation and well-being.

Requires a Master’s degree (or a bachelor’s with relevant experience) and experience in student services; travel and weekend work may be required;

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree with relevant professional experience) in Engineering, Education, Counseling, Student Personnel Services, or a relevant field.
• Experience in a student-focused setting (academic advising, classroom instruction, counseling, or related student services).
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite for document creation, data management, and electronic file organization.
• Ability to travel occasionally and work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-impact academic, professional, and personal support for undergraduates in the College of Engineering.
• Manage the day-to-day programmatic and operational needs of Clark Scholars Program and STEP.
• Help students connect to other student services to support retention, graduation, and well-being.
• Oversee stewardship of meeting rooms and general-use spaces to support student success and community building.
