Virginia Tech seeks an Assistant Director of Student Success Programs to provide high-impact academic, professional, and personal support for undergraduate students in the College of Engineering. The role manages Clark Scholars and STEP programs, coordinates spaces, and connects students with services to improve retention, graduation and well-being.
Requires a Master’s degree (or a bachelor’s with relevant experience) and experience in student services; travel and weekend work may be required;
The Assistant Director of Student Success Programs provides high-impact academic, professional, and personal support for undergraduate students within the College of Engineering from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. The Assistant Director will manage the day-to-day programmatic and operational needs of special programs, such as the Clark Scholars Program and Student Transition Engineering Program (STEP), ensuring each program runs smoothly and meets its goals within established guidelines and deadlines. The Assistant Director will help students connect to other student services to support retention, graduation, and individual well-being. In addition to leading these programs, the Assistant Director provides stewardship of meeting rooms and general-use spaces, ensuring these environments are well managed, welcoming, and supportive of student success and community building.
This position reports to the Executive Director and requires a highly motivated individual who can deliver a high level of interactive customer service while developing and maintaining collaborative relationships within the College and University environment.
