Job summary

EY seeks an Assistant Director for Data Engineering & Analytics Platforms to shape enterprise data and AI capabilities. You will partner with leaders to define direction, deliver modern data platforms, and develop scalable analytics solutions leveraging Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.

You will mentor teams, remove delivery barriers, and drive adoption of AI technologies, including generative AI, across global stakeholders and multiple delivery models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology discipline.
• 8 to 12 years of progressive professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics engineering or related tech-delivery field.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership to development teams and guiding architecture decisions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric; experience with at least one platform is required.
• Strong knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, integration, modelling, testing, monitoring and production support.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, platform integrations, data pipelines and analytics solutions.
• Experience managing technical risks, dependencies, governance requirements, and delivery timelines.
• Experience leading technical workstreams and multidisciplinary teams through full lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise data, analytics and AI platform initiatives from requirements to deployment.
• Guide architecture decisions to meet security, scalability and operational requirements.
• Lead technical workstreams and multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment and support.
• Review designs, pipelines and analytics solutions for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Manage risks, dependencies and delivery timelines with governance and quality controls.
• Coach and mentor team members and promote best engineering practices.
• Communicate technical risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Lead onshore and offshore transitions, including knowledge transfer and post-transition stabilization.
