Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking an Assistant Director for Data Engineering & Analytics Platforms to shape enterprise data and AI capabilities. You’ll lead the design and delivery of advanced data and AI solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, cloud platforms and emerging AI technologies, mentoring engineering teams and guiding architecture decisions.

You’ll help advance AI adoption and scalable analytics, working with stakeholders, delivery teams and technical leaders to evolve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology discipline.
• 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in data engineering, data platforms or analytics engineering.
• Proven technical leadership guiding architecture and design decisions.
• Hands-on with Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, at least one platform required.
• Strong knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, modelling and production support.
• Experience reviewing designs, pipelines and analytics solutions.
• Experience managing risks, governance and delivery timelines.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through end-to-end delivery.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading onshore and offshore delivery and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for data, analytics and AI platform initiatives from design to production support.
• Guide architecture and design decisions to meet security, scalability and quality requirements.
• Lead technical workstreams and multidisciplinary teams through delivery lifecycle.
• Review designs, data pipelines and platform integrations for reliability and performance.
• Manage risks, dependencies and timelines while ensuring governance.
• Identify and remove barriers, enabling teams to resolve complex issues.
• Coach and mentor team members and promote engineering best practices.
• Communicate risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Lead onshore/offshore transitions, knowledge transfer and post-transition stabilization.
