Job summary

EY is seeking an Assistant Director – Data Engineering & Analytics Platforms to shape enterprise data, analytics and AI capabilities. You will partner with leaders to establish direction, deliver modern data platforms and scalable AI solutions for measurable business value.

You'll lead design decisions, mentor teams, and drive adoption of generative AI and intelligent agents across global delivery, ensuring secure, reliable and high-performing analytics environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related tech field.
• 8–12 years of data engineering, analytics engineering, or data-platform delivery experience.
• Experience leading development teams and guiding architecture decisions.
• Hands-on with Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric (at least one).
• Strong knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, modelling and monitoring.
• Experience reviewing designs, pipelines and analytics solutions.
• Experience leading onshore/offshore delivery and knowledge transfer.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor technical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise data, analytics and AI platform initiatives from requirements through deployment and production support.
• Guide architecture and solution-design decisions to meet security, scalability, quality and operational requirements.
• Lead technical workstreams and multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment and support.
• Review technical designs, data pipelines, platform integrations and analytics solutions for reliability and performance.
• Manage risks, dependencies, priorities and delivery timelines with governance and quality controls.
• Identify and remove barriers, helping teams resolve complex issues.
• Coach and mentor team members and promote consistent engineering practices.
• Communicate risks, options and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Lead onshore and offshore transitions, including readiness, knowledge transfer, and handoffs.
