Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced Assistant Director – Data Engineering & Analytics Platforms to shape enterprise data, analytics and AI capabilities across diverse US offices. You will partner with business leaders and engineering teams to define technical direction and deliver modern data platforms that drive measurable business value.

You will guide architecture decisions, mentor teams, and promote secure, scalable and high-performing solutions while advancing generative AI and AI-powered

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related tech discipline.
• 8–12 years of progressive professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics engineering or related field.
• Experience providing technical leadership to development teams and guiding architecture decisions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric (at least one).
• Strong knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, integration, modelling, testing, monitoring and production support.
• Experience reviewing designs, pipelines, integrations and analytics solutions.
• Experience leading or coordinating onshore/offshore delivery.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise data, analytics and AI platform initiatives from requirements to deployment and support.
• Guide architecture and design decisions to meet security, scalability, quality and ops requirements.
• Lead technical workstreams and multidisciplinary teams through end-to-end delivery.
• Review designs, pipelines, and analytics solutions for reliability and performance.
• Manage risks, dependencies, governance and delivery timelines.
• Coach and mentor team members and promote best engineering practices.
• Communicate risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Lead or support onshore and offshore transitions and knowledge transfer.
