Job summary

The University of North Carolina in Charlotte seeks an Assistant Director of Application Management to lead the OneIT Student Affairs Support Team. You will oversee the support, maintenance, installation, and implementation of enterprise software systems for the Division of Student Affairs, coordinating with clients and vendors to ensure successful deployments.

You will guide staff, manage projects, and develop documentation while liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in higher education setting preferred.
• Experience with Windows Server OS and SQL Server preferred.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical team responsible for supporting, maintaining, implementing, and administering the enterprise software systems for the Division of Student Affairs.
• Serve as a technical resource and liaison to both technical and non-technical staff, making technical recommendations that align with OneIT and university goals.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, team members, and other IT partners to ensure successful implementation of new systems or changes/upgrades to existing systems.
• Research university or OneIT initiatives to determine how they impact supported applications or infrastructure. Plan the implementation of these initiatives and incorporate them into supported applications or infrastructure as needed.
• Oversee and assist with the deployment, testing, and implementation of routine and non-routine software installations and updates.
• Resolve customer issues through our ticketing system in a timely and professional manner.
• Develop step-by-step documentation for processes and procedures associated with the position.
