Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to lead one of the busiest deli teams and deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring product quality and profitability.

You will assist in hiring, training, and supervising staff, coordinating production and inventory, and maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced store environment. This role requires flexibility, strong communication, and a customer-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a preferred 2 years supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service
• Be dependable and reliable with flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Have strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to take and give direction
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude interacting with customers
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff and understand reports and goals
• Detail-oriented with analytical and problem solving skills
• Maintain Food Safety certification and compliance with regulations
• Strong organization and planning skills; multi-tasking ability
• Must lift up to 70 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours per shift
• Operate deli equipment and assist in maintenance of equipment
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork
• Lead a team that delivers the finest quality of product and highest level of service
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training and developing the Deli team
• Unload and sort deliveries, operate and maintain deli equipment
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation guidelines/regulations
