Job summary

Silver Cliff Ranch is seeking an innovative, optimistic Assistant Cook to help prepare high-quality meals and deliver exceptional hospitality to guests from around the country. You will work closely with the Dining Services Manager to prepare daily meals and snacks, mentor seasonal kitchen staff, and lead kitchen operations when the Dining Services Manager is off.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in culinary/kitchen roles; experience running restaurants or school kitchens or as sous chef preferred.
• CFPM certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen; proof of work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and menu planning for daily service and group retreats.
• Prepare allergy-aware meals and follow food safety protocols.
• Lead kitchen staff and manage operations in absence of Dining Services Manager.
• Mentor seasonal staff and maintain team morale and performance.
• Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and proper storage across kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and campus-wide cleanup between groups.
• Support Snack Shop operations and general team tasks.
