Job summary

Quantinuum is seeking an Assistant Controller in Broomfield, CO to lead U.S. GAAP reporting, close processes, and internal controls for the U.S. business. You will partner closely with the Sr. Controller and CFO to drive accurate financial reporting and policy adherence.

You will supervise month-end close, consolidation, footnotes, and internal controls, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with auditors. This role offers hybrid work up to 2 days remote per week with approval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree minimum.
• 8+ years of GAAP accounting, month-end close procedures, Project Accounting, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, reconciliation preparation and review, and GL/AP/AR.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with SAP S4 HANA.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working for a publicly traded company.
• Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
• Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People’s Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in month-end close procedures, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of key balance sheet accounts.
• Generate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, supporting both internal and external reporting needs.
• Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnotes.
• Support and actively participate in internal control activities, SOX testing, and remediation efforts as required.
• Provide information to FP&A and business partners to support budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
• Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly variance analysis, identify trends, and provide insights on variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Mentor and develop junior accounting staff; provide leadership and hands-on coaching.
• Work with external auditors during audit planning and execution, ensuring timely deliverables.
• Partner cross-functionally to support financial initiatives, system implementations, and process improvements.
