Job summary

High Country Search Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller for a global investment management firm in Denver. This hands-on accounting leadership role supports corporate accounting and financial operations, partnering with senior finance leadership to maintain accurate reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The six-month contract offers hybrid work and competitive hourly compensation of $55-$70/hour.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership or senior responsibilities.
• GAAP knowledge and strong financial reporting experience.
• CPA designation is a plus.
• Experience in investment management or financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process with timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses.
• Assist with external audits and coordinate requests from auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies; strengthen internal controls.
• Lead accounting staff and collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Treasury and Tax on initiatives.
