Job summary

Focus Search LLC is recruiting a Corporate Controller for a national, publicly traded cannabis company with offices across the US. This key finance leader will report to the CFO, oversee the accounting function, ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and support SEC and Canadian compliance efforts while strengthening internal controls ahead of future SOX readiness.

You will mentor the team, lead the monthly close, manage technical accounting under U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of Controller or accounting leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting.
• Experience with SEC/public company financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process.
• Oversee technical accounting under U.S. GAAP.
• Manage SEC and Canadian compliance requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls and support SOX readiness.
• Mentor and develop finance team; build scalable processes.
