Job summary

SP6 is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage the monthly close, ensure accurate financial reporting across SP6, ASCERA, and 112Cyber. You will lead a hands-on team, own Business Central reporting, review revenue recognition, and oversee tax compliance.

The role is hybrid in St. Petersburg, FL, requiring a strong controls mindset and the ability to turn numbers into actionable leadership insights. You will report to the CFO and drive process improvements across entities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role overseeing others.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 for software and services.
• Experience leading a multi-entity month-end close and preparing financial packages.
• Advanced Microsoft Business Central reporting skills and ERP administration experience.
• Working knowledge of multi-state sales tax compliance, ideally with Avalara.

Responsibilities

• Review revenue recognition and project billing, review schedules and journal entries.
• Lead monthly close and financial reporting; approve entries and review P&L and GL.
• Build and maintain Business Central reports for leadership and accounting teams.
• Administer payment platforms and maintain internal controls (Stripe, PIEE, etc.).
• Manage sales tax filings and Avalara-related activities; respond to state notices.
• Lead the accounting team, including offshore staff, and support payroll processes.
• Prepare weekly projections and leadership reporting and present results at All Hands meetings.
