Job summary

AmSpec LLC is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to strengthen accounting across a global, multi-entity business. You will lead the close, review journal entries, and ensure timely submissions from regional teams.

This senior role owns deliverables, coordinates external audits, partners with treasury and systems on data quality, and develops scalable processes. You will supervise staff and drive improvements in fixed assets, leases, and consolidation routines.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years progressive accounting experience including month-end close.
• Experience in a multi-entity or international business across time zones.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge; ability to research and finalize conclusions.
• Experience with ERP and consolidation systems; NetSuite, FCCS or Hyperion helpful.
• Comfort with Excel-based analyses and improving manual processes.
• Practical, detail-oriented style with ability to set standards and review docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly close for assigned entities and consolidated reporting.
• Establish a consistent close control framework across entities.
• Review complex accounting matters under US GAAP; acquisitions, intercompany, leases, etc.
• Coordinate financial statement and external audit support with auditors.
• Partner with treasury and systems on interfaces, data quality, and FCCS changes.
• Improve fixed asset and lease accounting processes and subledgers.
• Supervise accounting staff and provide coaching, feedback and oversight.
