Job summary

SP6 is seeking an Assistant Controller to run the monthly close, oversee financial reporting across SP6, ASCERA and 112Cyber, and lead the accounting team including offshore staff. You will own revenue recognition, project billing, financial systems (Microsoft Business Central) and sales tax compliance, presenting results to leadership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 for software, professional services and managed services.
• Experience leading a multi-entity month-end close and preparing financial packages.
• Advanced Microsoft Business Central reporting skills, plus ERP administration or implementation.
• Working knowledge of multi-state sales tax compliance, ideally with Avalara.
• A strong controls mindset and sound judgment.
• Clear, direct communication with leadership, sales and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Review revenue recognition and project billing, and lead CRC/MS meetings with delivery teams.
• Lead the month-end close and financial reporting across multiple entities.
• Own financial systems and reporting, including building Business Central reports.
• Approve payments and maintain internal controls (bills, bank payments, Positive Pay).
• Manage sales tax filings, Avalara compliance, and state registrations.
• Prepare weekly projections and leadership reporting for executive review.
• Lead the accounting team and oversee payroll-related activities.
