Job summary

SP6 is seeking an Assistant Controller in St. Petersburg, FL for a hybrid role. You will run monthly close, own financial reporting across SP6, ASCERA and 112Cyber, review revenue recognition, and manage tax compliance.

You will lead the staff accountants, including offshore personnel, and report to the CFO. You will build strong controls, improve processes, and turn numbers into clear leadership insights. The role requires hands-on leadership and deep experience in multi-entity close and ERP

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years as an assistant controller or accounting manager leading others.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606) for software, professional services and managed services.
• Experience leading a multi-entity month-end close and preparing financial packages.
• Advanced Microsoft Business Central reporting skills, plus ERP administration or implementation experience.
• Working knowledge of multi-state sales tax compliance, ideally with Avalara.
• A strong controls mindset and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Review revenue recognition and project billing (~25%) and reconcile CRC/PS billing.
• Lead the month-end close and financial reporting (~20%), including journal entries and P&L review.
• Own financial systems and reporting (~20%), including Business Central, Stripe and PIEE administration.
• Approve payments and maintain controls (~10%), including bank and POS payments and Ramp reconciliations.
• Manage sales tax (~10%), including Avalara filings and state registrations.
• Prepare projections and leadership reporting (~10%).
• Lead the accounting team (~5%), including staff development and offshore personnel.
