Job summary

The primary function of the Assistant Controller position is to manage the financial accounting of the organization in an efficient, client supportive and profitable manner. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong leadership skills, and extensive experience leveraging systems to streamline accounting processes and support financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience.
• Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or a similar ERP system.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to perform under tight timelines while prioritizing.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities for multiple Operating Companies.
• Prepare/Review journal entries for AR, AP, cash, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, intercompany, accruals, etc.
• Reconcile the general ledger accounts in accordance with policies.
• Research variances to forecast and budget with management.
• Communicate month-end close timing and results with cross-functional teams.
• Lead a team of accountants, providing guidance and career development.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the accounting team.
• Ensure accounting procedures conform to GAAP and corporate policies.
• Lead year-end audit and respond to external auditors.
• Champion adoption of new accounting software and tools.
