We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 4 years in public accounting, and a strong background in the machinery or rental industry. Proficiency with E-emphasis (RentalMan) ERP software is required.

As the Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, assisting with month-end close, internal controls, audits, and supporting the financial strategy of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Controller in overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Lead internal audits and coordinate with external auditors for year-end audits
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting systems
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Collaborate with operations and rental teams to analyze financial performance and support business initiatives
• Leverage expertise in E-emphasis software to streamline reporting and data integrity
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting and depreciation tracking, particularly for machinery and rental equipment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in public accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proven experience in the machinery or rental industry
• Proficiency in E-emphasis (RentalMan) ERP software
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
