Job summary

Avanath Capital LLC in Portland, OR is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to support all aspects of operations, including reporting, rent processing, leasing, and supervising staff in the Community Manager's absence.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, knowledge of LIHTC, Fair Housing, hands-on bookkeeping, and proficiency with Yardi Voyager; you will partner with residents, vendors, and staff to maintain high occupancy and a positive living environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
• LIHTC/Tax Credit Program Knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills and dedication to customer service.
• Solid bookkeeping and rent collection experience.
• Understanding of landlord/tenant law and Fair Housing laws.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
• Proficient with Windows, Word, Excel, internet and email.
• Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident concerns and requests in a timely manner to maintain satisfaction and retention.
• Serve as a resource for residents on community living issues and rent payment processes.
• Organize resident appreciation events and maintain confidential files for each resident.
• Assist with leasing duties including tours of properties.
• Handle all property income: posting and depositing rents and deposits.
• Review resident ledgers to identify delinquencies and communicate balances to residents.
• Assist with monthly projections, inspect vacancies, and ensure property policies and repairs are up to standard.
• Meet regularly with Community Manager and Regional Manager to review performance.
• Oversee property operations in Community Manager’s absence and support Leasing Consultants with Fair Housing compliance.
