Job summary

Avanath Capital Management, LLC is seeking an attentive Assistant Community Manager to support all operational duties for a community. You will handle reporting, rent processing, leasing, marketing, and oversee staff in the Community Manager’s absence.

You’ll work to deliver exceptional resident service, maintain accurate ledgers, and collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with Fair Housing and program requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
• LIHTC/Tax Credit Program Knowledge required.
• Excellent communication skills and dedication to customer service.
• Solid bookkeeping and rent collection experience.
• Thorough understanding of landlord/tenant law.
• Strong Understanding of Fair Housing Laws.
• Superior interpersonal skills; tactful and flexible.
• Resourceful and organized.
• Solid computer knowledge: Windows, Word, Excel, internet, and e-mail.
• Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.

Responsibilities

• Resident relations and customer service to promote satisfaction and retention.
• Assist leasing duties, including tours for prospective residents.
• Handle fiduciary tasks: post and deposit rents and deposits.
• Review resident files and delinquency balances; enforce leases.
• Support monthly projections, inspections, make-ready apartments, and model units.
• Meet with Community Manager and Regional Manager to discuss performance.
• Oversee operations in Community Manager’s absence.
• Support Leasing Consultants and ensure Fair Housing guidelines.
• Maintain compliance files per department directions.
• Follow policies on evictions and representation in court when required.
