Job summary

The Scion Group seeks an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in supervising all business functions at a student housing property. The role requires a customer-centric mindset, action bias, and readiness to step in for the GM as needed.

You'll oversee operations, staff development, and property administration in a fast-paced, on-site environment, with an emphasis on maintaining high resident satisfaction and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Exceptional written and verbal communicator.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Customer-centric mindset.
• 1+ years’ experience in living communities/property management.
• Proficient in Property Management Systems (Entrata preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with attracting candidates on and off campus, hiring new team members and improving retention.
• Assist the General Manager with training, coaching, development and leadership of team members.
• Manage the property onsite schedule, including after hour on-call shifts.
• Partner with GM to elevate employee experience through data, conversations and team building to ensure high morale.
• Prepare, respond and advise on community issues including policies and emergencies with partner departments.
• Deliver notices and manage resident accounts, billing and auditing.
• Oversee safety, curb appeal, facilities maintenance and compliance with codes.
• Support annual turnover planning and execution with staff and vendors.
• Assist with Month End reports, reconcile accounts receivable and enforce collection policies.
• Lead customer experience initiatives, market surveys and sales campaigns and manage reviews and feedback.
