This role sits at the operational core of a conventional multifamily community in Austin. You'll carry real weight on the leasing side: greeting and qualifying prospects, presenting units, closing leases, and following up on leads that come in by phone or online. But leasing is only part of the picture. You'll also own a significant portion of the financial administration that keeps a property running cleanly. That means maintaining resident ledgers, tracking delinquency, collecting rent and deposits, issuing late notices, and coordinating the eviction process when it gets to that point. On any given day, you might close a lease in the morning and spend the afternoon reconciling notices to vacate and updating vacancy reports before the Property Manager reviews them.
Redstone Residential operates more than 38,000 beds across 20 states, with a growing conventional portfolio alongside its student housing work. As a third-party management company of that scale, it runs tight systems and expects staff to work within defined processes. You'll participate in company training, maintain accurate administrative files, and flag anything unusual about residents or property conditions up the chain. The Property Manager leans on this role heavily, including for input on office personnel matters.
Assistant Community Manager is one of the more valuable early‑career positions in multifamily because it forces fluency across two disciplines at once: leasing performance and financial operations. Most leasing consultants only see one side. Here, you're tracking delinquency, touching rent collections, and producing daily reports alongside your traffic and closing responsibilities. That combination is exactly what Property Manager roles require, and operators consistently promote from this seat because the candidate already understands both the revenue side and the operational administration behind it.
At a company growing its conventional portfolio as aggressively as Redstone, there's also a real case for upward movement as new communities come online. Compensation starts at $25.00 per hour with bonus eligibility, and the benefits package includes 401(k) matching up to 6%, paid parental leave, and a continued education program, which matters if you're planning a longer career path in property management.
