Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager in California to oversee testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects. You will guide a commissioning team and work with engineering, construction, and QA to ensure safe, compliant, and fully operable assets on site.

The role requires coordinating with OEMs, managing schedules in P6, and maintaining safety programs. Travel to project sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with NFPA/NEC standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team and report daily to the Commissioning Manager.
• Review requirements and assist with commissioning plan, procedures, and milestones.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers on equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams to align commissioning activities.
• Develop integrated P6 testing and commissioning schedules and maintain them weekly.
• Develop the commissioning resource plan and ensure on-site safety programs.
• Oversee pre-commissioning, cold, warm, and hot testing for BESS, HV, and PV systems.
• Prepare daily commissioning reports and track issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety/environmental regulations.
