Job summary

Madison Reed Hair Color Bar is hiring an Assistant Colorist in San Diego to support Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead, learning color theory and behind-the-chair skills while delivering a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure.

You will work toward promotion to Licensed Colorist within 3–9 months, with compensation consisting of base hourly pay, commissions, and tips, ranging from $28 to $30 per hour depending on performance and tenure.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• Entry level experience in customer service or retail sales; beauty/salon experience preferred.
• Strong communication, problem solving and people skills in a fast paced retail/salon.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to provide a guest experience aligned with company values.
• Assist behind-the-chair services including shampooing, finishing, styling and color-related tasks.
• Help drive sales through retail, memberships and add-on services.
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory and asset security.
• Follow Madison Reed systems, policies and procedures.
• Support revenue growth by promoting services, memberships, and home care products.
• Learn and complete Assistant Colorist to Colorist training to progress in the role.
