Job summary

Madison Reed Hair Color Bar is hiring an Assistant Colorist in California. The role supports Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead to deliver a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure while learning services and progressing toward a Licensed Colorist role within 3–9 months.

Compensation includes base hourly pay, commissions, and tips, with earnings projected at $28-$30 per hour for this location.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state you are applying.
• Entry level experience in customer service or retail sales; salon/beauty industry preferred.
• Effective communication, strong problem solving and people skills.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to provide guest experiences aligned with values.
• Perform behind-the-chair services: assisting finishing services, shampooing, conditioning, styling, blowouts, hot tool styling, treatments and toner, add-on product application.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and KPIs (retail, services, memberships).
• Ensure Hair Color Bar cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
• Drive revenue through increasing average service tickets, memberships, subscriptions, home hair care and more.
• Support colorist training to grow within Madison Reed.
