Madison Reed Hair Color Bar in San Francisco is seeking an Assistant Colorist to support Licensed Colorists and Shift Lead, learning services and working toward promotion to Licensed Colorist. The role emphasizes guest experience, color consultations, and color care education while maintaining a busy, friendly, clean environment.

Compensation includes base hourly pay, commissions and tips, with potential earnings reflecting bar performance, tenure and time behind the chair.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where you apply.
• Entry level experience in customer service or retail; salon/beauty preferred.
• Strong communication and problem solving in a fast-paced retail or salon.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and develop teamwork to provide a guest experience aligned with company values.
• Perform behind‑chair services including assisting in finishing, shampooing, conditioning, styling, blowouts and toner applications.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals, retail and service KPIs, and memberships.
• Ensure cleanliness, merchandising, inventory and asset security at the Hair Color Bar.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies and procedures.
• Grow revenue through higher average ticket and memberships and subscriptions.
