Job summary

Villa Sport in Katy, TX, is seeking a Swim Coach to develop and manage the Swim Team under the Aquatics Director. You will lead practices, teach stroke techniques, and maintain safety and a supportive environment for swimmers of various ages.

Ideal candidates have a background in competitive swimming, ARC Lifeguard cert, and coaching experience. Flexible schedules and a 401(k) match up to 4% are offered, along with complimentary club membership and product discounts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead practices tailored to each group's age and goals.

• Communicate professionally with athletes and families.
• Attend meets, meetings, and team activities; assist Head Coach as needed.
• Commit to 10-15 hours per week.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position works closely with the Head Swim Coach in developing, coordinating, and managing the Villa Sport Swim Team in a safe and responsible manner. This person will be provided with general supervision by the Aquatics Director and will need to be organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and able to successfully manage the programs with minimal direct supervision.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS INCLUDE:

• Hourly rate of pay based upon relevant experience to the role.
• Base pay: $13.00 with opportunity for private lessons

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with aquatics industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Competitive swimming background
• Minimum of 1year instructing swim lessons.
• Coaching experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• 16 years of age and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (includes CPR/First AID/AED for the Professional Rescuer); or
• 18 years of age and Swimming Coaches Safety Training Certification (including First Aid) and American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
• American Swimming Coaches Association - Level 1 preferred
• Associate's degree preferred

Job Responsibilities:

• Teach stroke technique, starts, turns, and effective training habits.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and supportive environment with clear expectations.
• Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and fellow coaches.
• Attend assigned swim meets, staff meetings, and team activities.
• Support daily team operations by completing additional duties assigned by the Head Coach.
• 10-15 Hours per week
