Gold's Gym Washington is looking for a highly motivated age group coach for its Aquatic Club in Woodinville. This role involves training younger swimmers, leading practice sessions, and ensuring a positive team environment. Candidates should possess a background in competitive swimming and leadership skills, along with necessary certifications. Working hours are part-time, mainly weekday evenings and Saturday mornings, with no relocation offered for this onsite position. Join our team and help develop the next generation of swimmers!

Qualifications

• Background of year round swimming with proven ability to instruct drills and techniques.

• Must come prepared and ready for all shifts on time.
• Excellent communication, oral and written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work from 4:30PM-7:30PM on weekdays and 7:00AM-12:00PM on Saturdays.
• Current Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, AED, FIRST AID, and USA Swimming.

Responsibilities

• Help conduct regular practice sessions and provide on-deck coaching.
• Work closely with the head coach and other coaches for consistent coaching.
• Guide and support swimmers in setting and achieving ambitious goals.
• Evaluate swimmers’ progress and provide individualized feedback.
• Communicate regularly with swimmers, parents, and club management.
• Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques and trends.

Job Summary

Gold’s Aquatic Club is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual in competitive swimming to join our team to assist with our younger age groups. As an age group coach, you will be responsible for helping develop swimmers’ skills in all four strokes. Skills for the swimmers will range from beginning proficiency in all four strokes to preparing for championship meets. You will provide guidance, instruction, and support to athletes while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. As a head instructor, you will assist with training and overseeing instructors. If needed, you will assist with lessons if staffing or help is warranted.

• Collaboration: Excellent communication, oral and written, and interpersonal skills.
• Availability: Ability to work from 4:30PM-7:30PM on weekdays and 7:00AM-12:00PM on Saturdays (Part Time).
• Certification: Current Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and FIRST AID, and USA Swimming (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Preferred Qualifications

• Coaching Experience: 1-2 years of previous coaching experience in competitive swimming with a proven track record of success in developing swimmers at various levels.

• Employee Excellence: Adhere to club policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements/Environment

• Must be able to work in a wet environment with occasionally high noise levels.
• Must be able to move frequently through all areas of the pool deck. Your shifts include continuous engagement and interaction with swimmers and team members.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with occasional travel to team events.
• Daily duties include lifting, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time, and moving for prolonged periods of time.
• Required to demonstrate or explain proper physical activities, techniques and procedures.
