Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a results-driven Assistant Club Manager in Training to help lead daily store operations and department performance. You will work closely with the Club Manager and oversee departments such as Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience, ensuring high standards and strong team engagement.

The role emphasizes talent development, onboarding, and safety training, with opportunities to advance within BJ's leadership tracks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a large team.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.
• Forklift operator certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members, including interviewing and staffing decisions.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling aligned with trends and budget targets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management to maintain in-stock conditions.
• Champion Member Experience Standards (GAA, GOLD).
• Maintain equipment and facilities, ensure compliance with safety standards.
