Job description

Job Title: Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Remote)

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to work remotely, with on-site presence once a week or less. The role involves coordinating clinical research trials focused on preventive interventions for substance use, engaging with community stakeholders, recruiting participants, and data collection.

Our mission is to serve our community with compassion, collaborate with interdisciplinary scientists and community partners, and lead innovative research to improve interventions for substance use. The coordinator will work closely under the supervision of the principal investigator and a senior coordinator.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Conducting literature reviews and synthesis
  2. Conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups, analyzing data
  3. Scheduling and contacting participants for reminders and requirements
  4. Preparing regulatory documents and maintaining study records
  5. Assisting with participant screening, recruitment, and consent
  6. Extracting data from source documents
  7. Processing study payments and sending thank you letters
  8. Supporting post-study activities
  9. *Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Biology, or related field
  • Experience with clinical research, especially with mental health or substance use populations
  • Knowledge of good clinical practice (GCP) or willingness to learn
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
Education & Experience (Required):

Two-year college degree and one year of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and fine motor tasks
  • Occasional sitting, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Rarely kneeling, climbing ladders, or lifting over 40 pounds
Work Standards:
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with university policies

The pay range is $23.33 - $29.51 hourly, based on various factors including experience and qualifications. Stanford offers a comprehensive benefits package detailed on their website.
